Does my code leave my machine?
No. Buddy talks directly to the asynq-agentd daemon running on your Mac over your own network. We can't see your code even if we wanted to.
Does my Mac need to stay on?
Yes. Agents run locally, so your Mac has to stay awake and online while they work. A Mac Mini or a docked MacBook is ideal - on a laptop, enable "prevent sleep" or keep it plugged in with the lid open.
Which agents are supported?
Claude Code and OpenAI Codex today. Cursor and Aider are next up on the roadmap - let us know what else you'd like to see.
Is there a native iOS app?
The web app already feels great on mobile. A native iOS build is on TestFlight - ask for an invite on Discord after you pair.
What's the catch?
None yet. The public alpha is free. When we launch paid plans, the observe features stay free forever - we only charge for remote control.
